Reimagining Balance: A woke up call for Millennials from Gen Z
Be honest, do you count down the days until Friday? If so, it might be time for a shift. It’s time to challenge the societal norms that have shaped us millennials.
We were raised under the boomer influence, where it’s all about "having it all". But what does that even mean really?? The way I see it: Trying to “have it all” just means we forfeit of a balanced, healthy lifestyle and our mental health suffers.
I’m talking about late nights, slow mornings and a generally lethargic way about the day.
So why do we keep doing this? Why don’t we take a page out of Gen Z's book? They haven’t just shown us that we’re out of touch with slang and social media, they've taught us that slowing down, prioritising, and looking for harmony is not just a dream but an achievable reality. Have you ever wondered what your week would look like to stop trying to climb the corporate ladder, that you have forgotten why you started climbing in the first place? What if you were focussed on something more important than that?
Now, take a breath. Let’s start to reframe…
It’s time we stopped thinking a day or a week at a time. We need to start thinking in terms of YEARS. Where do you see yourself five years from now? What will you be proud of yourself for?
Now, work backwards from there.
What steps are necessary to reach that point…?
Want to find out…?
As a generation driven by hustle culture, it's easy to get lost in “showing up for work” without truly considering what we're “showing up” for. I spent years doing this only to be rewarded with regret at the end of it. I' want to guide you in exploring a different approach; a strategic, purposeful path that prioritises your wellbeing and long term goals whilst taking your current lifestyle into consideration.
Often with my clients, we start with a goal in mind and then build the steps to get there. Sometimes we even spend a few sessions really discovering what makes them tick, what their dream is.
You need to redefine success, move away from survival mode and towards intentional living. You need to dig into your aspirations, redefine your priorities, and create your very own path that leads to a fulfilling and balanced life.
One where work complements life rather than dominating it. This is now where I am, but I honestly didn’t see that being possible about a year ago.
Your journey to a more balanced and fulfilling life begins with a choice. After you make that choice you need to take action because a choice without action is just, well……a choice. If you’re ready to make that choice we can work together to put in the action.
If so, let's dig into where you want to be in the years ahead and discover what it'll take to make that vision a reality.
Your future self will thank you for it.
