Case study

Dean Harrington

Problem faced:

I approached Olivier at the start of 2024 with the goal of scaling my business after a successful 2023, which included winning two awards. But my problem was, I struggled with overworking, questioning my own self worth, and poor time management. Balancing my passion for trivia writing with my responsibilities as a husband, father of two, and IT support engineer was becoming overwhelming. I found it difficult to set boundaries between my work and personal life, and because I didn’t really see my own worth, I would underprice my services. On top of that, I was stretched so thin that I couldn’t see where I had time to focus on what mattered most to me.

Impact it had:

My tendency to overwork and my poor time management had a huge impact, both personally and professionally. I was missing out on precious moments with my kids, and because I wasn’t charging what my work was worth, I was holding my business back. If I didn’t do something about it, I knew I was headed straight towards burnout, which wouldn’t just affect me, but my family too.

Solution worked on:

Working with Olivier over six months completely changed my approach. Through our sessions, I learned how to set clear boundaries so that work didn’t consume my life. I started to understand my own worth, which gave me the confidence to raise my prices and feel GOOD about it. Time management became easier as I started recognizing the opportunities I had to make better use of my schedule, whether that was fitting in regular gym sessions or carving out quality time with my children. We took a deep dive into my old habits, identified where I was going wrong, and built a structured routine that allowed for both business growth and personal well-being.

Impact of result:

By the end of our work together, I had a much healthier work-life balance. I was no longer overworking, and I had created more space for my family. My confidence had grown loads, and I finally valued my services enough to charge my worth. I became much more intentional with my time, finding ways to prioritize my health, my family, and my business without feeling like I was constantly drowning in work. More than anything, I had a solid framework to keep me from slipping back into old habits, making sure that my progress was sustainable.
